These drawings were created after my residency in Flores Island, Azores. I was at the residency for two months; on my return to New York City, I experienced sensory overwhelm. As a Zen practitioner, I began to rely on centering my energy in order to cope with the change in environment. I became curious about the spiraling quality of the city. It was dizzying and my zen practice of sitting with a straight spine and kin-in walking meditation began to inform my artwork.
